SleepScore Heads to SLEEP 2025
Our Latest Research in Sleep Tech & Science
SleepScore is proud to have participated in SLEEP 2025, the 39th annual meeting of the Associated Professional Sleep Societies (APSS), held June 8–11 in Seattle, Washington. This prestigious gathering of sleep experts, industry leaders, and global institutions showcased the best and latest in sleep science. For us, it was an opportunity to share the depth of our work: 12 peer-reviewed abstracts that explore the connection between real-world products and real sleep improvements.
But the story isn’t just about abstracts—it’s about impact. Our research validates how specific solutions work, for whom, and under what conditions—advancing both personalized guidance and population-level health.
Quantifying Real-World Impact: 12 Abstracts, 1 Purpose
The studies we presented spanned a variety of consumer-facing products—from cooling bedding and adjustable bases to screen light filters, sleep masks, air purifiers, and more. Each one tackled a simple but powerful question: Does this really help people sleep better?
Across the 12 abstracts, we documented objective improvements in sleep quality and subjective gains in restfulness, pain relief, and overall comfort. This wasn’t theoretical—we used in-home studies and proprietary measurement tools to track changes that matter in real life.
Our Abstracts Covered a Variety of Product Solutions
- 5 Bedding & Mattress objective and perceived studies
- 3 Air Quality solution objective and perceived studies
- 2 Light & Tech device objective and perceived studies
- 2 Supplement & system controlled trials
This diverse portfolio shows our commitment to evaluating non-clinical solutions for non-clinical sleepers—those who don’t necessarily have a disorder, but still suffer from poor sleep and need effective, accessible options.
Working With Industry, Advancing Science
SleepScore Labs is proud to collaborate with product companies to validate their innovations—but we don’t stop there. With hundreds of studies conducted out of 240 total to date, our research also seeks to advance sleep science more broadly by identifying patterns in who benefits most from which interventions. Our end goal: helping people discover what works best for them, faster and more reliably.
The SLEEP 2025 conference embodied this mission. We were surrounded by research departments, pharmaceutical and media companies, and leading academic institutions—all bringing their perspectives on how sleep affects performance, health, and life at scale.
Practice What We Preach
This year’s APSS meeting was more than scientific—it was deeply human. SleepScore’s CEO Colin Lawlor and lead scientists Sharon Danoff-Burg and Elie Gottlieb engaged in hallway conversations and panel discussions that reminded us why we do this work.

During one session, a sleep doctor reviewing our abstract on cooling bedding remarked:
“I’ve badly needed something to help my patients who need non-clinical solutions for non-clinical problems. This is the kind of solution I’d recommend.”
These are the moments that underscore the value of connecting research to everyday life. When science meets empathy, it changes everything.
Our research addressed questions many people face at home:
„Does my mattress actually affect my sleep?“
„Can screen light disrupt rest?“
„What role do air purifiers or cooling bedding play in nighttime comfort?“
Each study was conducted using in-home testing environments and our proprietary sleep measurement tools, reinforcing our commitment to data-driven consumer solutions.

Looking Ahead: Improving Sleep at Scale
SLEEP 2025 reminded us of the power of collaboration across sectors—sleep medicine, consumer health, government research, and private enterprise—all converging to push the boundaries of what’s possible. And we’re just getting started.
Up next: Our team is preparing to attend World Sleep in Singapore this fall (Oct–Nov). More science, more collaboration, and more answers to the big question: How can we help more people get better sleep?
